The Virginia Positive Behavior
Support Project

Updated July 14, 2017

The Virginia Positive Behavior Support Project receives funding from the Virginia Department of Behavior Health and Developmental Service to improve the quality of life of Virginians with disabilities by increasing the number of Positive Behavior Support Facilitators in Virginia. The Project provides training, mentoring and endorsement of VPBS Facilitators and works with endorsed facilitators to maintain their skills and ethics.

"Why become and endorsed VPBS Facilitator?"

Endorsement as a VPBS Facilitator is required to provide therapeutic consultation to people who receive services by participating in the Developmental Disability Waiver Program administered by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). The VPBS Project does not negotiate provider rates or advise VPBS Facilitators regarding payment or reimbursement.

Endorsed VPBS Facilitators interested in being a Waiver Provider may contact DMAS if they are interested in registering with them.
