Academic Career
Exploration-Individualized Techniques

Updated February 27, 2012

Academic Career Exploration-Individualized Techniques is a new and innovative 30-month program at Virginia Commonwealth University that leads to a School of Education Certificate of Completion. It is one of the Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSID) funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Each student’s coursework is built upon their interests and employment goals as described in their person centered plan. The final three months of the certificate program are spent working with employment specialists to seek employment in their desired career.
